An iPad Can Have Several Advantages For Business People

With an amazing 25 million units sold in the first 14 months after its introduction, the iPad is one of Apple’s most popular devices.  Businesspeople who intended to use this highly-rated tablet device to help them at work and in their day to day activities comprised a large percentage of the iPad’s early buyers.  Some people are questioning the necessity of having an iPad at the office, but a close look shows that the usability, versatility and portability of the iPad can make it a smart investment for a businessperson who wants to become more productive and flexible in their job.

The greatly popularity of the iPad is largely explained by all the functions it is capable of performing.  More than 425,000 applications are currently available in the Apple App Store, so essentially every businessperson should be able to find an app to help with his or her day-to-day tasks.  An inexpensive application called “AirDisplay” provides just one example.  It allows people to use their iPad as a second computer monitor.  This helpful function makes it unnecessary to purchase, set up and find the space for an additional monitor.  This might not seem like much on its own, but the iPad has numerous features that can make working much easier, eventually increasing worker efficiency and productivity.

The iPad’s interface has a short learning curve and makes the device easy to use almost immediately, with users mastering its core functions exceedingly quickly.  Some programs on personal computers are complex and can require a long time to learn, but the iPad and its applications are different, being designed to operate both simply and effectively.  iPad users can create professional, Excel-type spreadsheets in just a few minutes by using the iWork application.  When users don’t need to spend an excessive amount of time learning complicated programs, they have more time to devote to important tasks.

iPads are extremely portable, allowing their owners to work while they’re at almost any location.  Applications like GoToMyPC allow users who are away from the workplace to stay in contact with their companies by letting them access their office computers from their iPads.  Now it’s possible for a user who has forgotten to email132013201320 an important file to its intended recipient to do so by accessing his or her PC from an iPad.  This remarkable tablet can even prevent its owners from needing to make special trips into work on the weekend by letting them do any type of task possible on their work computer even though they’re at home.

It’s not necessary for a businessperson to own an iPad, but it can drastically simplify life.  There are enough applications available that there will be some that will appeal to every iPad user, and they’re easy and quick to learn.  As a final consideration, the portable nature of the iPad means that its users can work from virtually any location, including away from the workplace.  The portability, usability and versatility of the iPad is a valuable combination and can prove to be very helpful to businesspeople.

IPad application development could possibly be just what you might need to propel your company to another level. So, why wait? Get a custom solution now and keep moving forward with today’s improving technology while creating better connections with your prospective buyers.

Windows Phone 7 Emerging In The Market

Currently, the market for smartphone operating systems is dominated by the Google Android platform and Apple’s iOS. 67% of the market is devoted to these two smartphone operating systems. The only other system even close to these two powerhouses is the RIM Blackberry OS which currently holds 20% of the market. That however is set to change. Market research giant IDC is projecting that by the year 2015, Windows 7 phone will not only be competition for the Android, iOS and Blackberry, but it will outsell the latter two and could become the second most popular mobile operating system.

Windows Phone 7, often abbreviated as WP7, is an operating system for the smartphone designed by Microsoft. This system offers an innovative user interface and has features that resemble the Microsoft home computing system. Since being released in October 2010, the system has received some very positive reviews. This includes praise for the fluidity of the navigation system and the responsive controls on the touchscreen. The only low points according to the reviewers were the so-so e-mail132013201320 system and the lack of multi-tasking options.

Of course, Microsoft plans to help to fix those problems when they update their OS in the Fall of 2011 with what they call the Mango release. This will bring along hundreds of new updates as well as improving the e-mail132013201320 system, improving search functions, social media integration and even dealing with multi-tasking as well. Included will also be an HTML5 friendly Internet Explorer.

It is all of these features that are leading IDC to speculate that through the Mango updates, the market is going to grow rapidly for the Windows Phone 7. There are many skeptics who doubt that an operating system that only makes up 9% of the market will have a sudden boom in popularity large enough to overtake Apple and compete with Google. However, the WP7 is quickly growing in popularity and there are more applications in the Windows Marketplace than there were in the Android Store at the same age. In fact, these naysayers are the same ones who claimed that the iPhone would never be able to compete in the market as well.

When you consider everything that the Windows phone 7 can offer, there is no doubt that some people will begin to switch the smartphone that they are using. Whether it becomes the biggest operating system around and actually overthrows the Android isn’t etched in stone yet. What you can be sure of is that with the upcoming release of Mango, there is certainly a chance that the smartphone OS market could be shifting. That shift could result in a third company coming in and changing the two horse race into a tighter three horse showdown for the chance to be the most used smart phone operating system.

Mobile application development is perhaps exactly what you’re looking for to propel your organization to a higher level. So, why wait? Consider a custom solution now and keep moving onward with today’s improving technology while developing better connections with your end users.
