Being a single dad to a couple of 6 year old twin boys isn’t the slightest bit a stroll in a park. More so now that its little league soccer season again. This season yours truly is to be in charge of getting the uniforms done.
Being one of just three dudes among 13 women in our team’s committee, it was a tough fight to get most of the committee to agree not to change the team’s kit color from red to pink. But as much as we tried, we failed to change the team moniker to The Red Warlocks from The Red Flamingos.
After searching for uniforms, and believe it or not – team sponsors, it came to my attention that our children’s soccer team did not have a logo. I spoke of this matter with the other two dads and we concluded that it might be a a great idea if we were to have our own soccer team logo. So we decided to draw up a logo concept each and display them to the committee.
The three of us met the following weekend with our designs and broke out in hysterical laughter, before we resigned to the fact that we weren’t born with creative minds. Evidently my Flamingo resembled a Woodpecker on performance enhancing substances. The so called works of pure creative genius from the other 2 weren’t a whole lot better better. One could possibly be mistaken for a work by Picasso and the other seemed like bored doodlings from a hapless victim of a 3 hour long department meeting. But we went ahead and displayed the design drafts to the committee anyway.
Though the committee barred the three of us from designing anything club related unless there is a blue moon, they did come to agreement that our little league team should definitely have its own logo. So I delightedly went back and surfed the net for logo design brunei, did some checking and picked a couple of design firms and tabled them to the committee.
Now we are excited to say that our soccer team has its own custom logo. We had badges made for the uniforms and logo stickers made for the fun of it – thanks to the sponsorship we got from the ice cream shop around the corner. The logo design itself ended up looking really cool with a Flamingo standing on one leg while the other is resting on a soccer ball with its wings akimbo.
A little bird told me that next year yours truly will be in charge of liquid sustenance aka drinks. I’m thinking of taking it a notch higher and am in the process of getting the paperwork done to present to Powerade about a sponsorship deal.
